A performance of "Exsultate Justi" (Juneau) by the Ouachita Baptist University Singers (Gary Gerber, conductor) during the 2014 ACDA Southwestern Division Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Utilizing the Advent text from Luke, Dixit Maria presents the moment of ecstatic joy during the Annunciation. The work opens with a choral fanfare, setting a tone of grandeur. This is followed by a playful melody which features interjections of exaltation. The music then moves to a lyrical tune through which singers may take the opportunity to showcase attention to tone and phrasing. The music then transitions back to the playful melody, and the work ends in a triumphant exclamation. This work will be a tremendous addition to your treble repertoire and bring joy to performers and audiences alike.
